Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Whitewater Rafting?

Whitewater rafting is a sport whose participants journey by inflatable boat down a river valley. Along the way, rapids are encountered. The raft rises over tall waves and plunges down steep drops. Paddlers pull as a team to steer the raft clear of boulders, logs, bridge abutments, and dangerous hydraulics.

Is It Safe?

Whitewater rafting is justly famous for adrenaline-pumping action. Less well-known is this fact: Whitewater rafting with a conscientious, professional outfitter is the safest adventure travel sport of all. We at North Cascades River Expeditions are completely dedicated and committed to your safety. Our perfect safety record spans 31 years of professional operation and over 45,000 paying passengers. We’re proud of this record and we pledge our very best to preserve it.
